Glycolic Facial Peel & Microdermabrasion
A glycolic acid facial peel is a facial exfoliating treatment that works to improve overall quality of the skin.
People who have oily skin, scarring, enlarged pores, facial lines or discoloration of the skin can benefit from glycolic peels.
A series of facial peels is recommended however most people notice results after the first glycolic peel.
Results have shown that long-term use of glycolic exfoliation in the form of peels has encouraged the stimulation of collagen
growth in the skin, which slows the development of lines, wrinkles and sagging skin.
Microdermabrasion is effective in reducing fine lines, "crow's feet", age spots and acne scars. Microdermabrasion also stimulates
the production of skin cells and collagen.
Microdermabrasion hand pieces emit crystals onto the surface of the skin, resulting in gentle abrasion or a "polishing" process.
It is very effective to combine microdermabrasion with glycolic peels. Plan to alternate glycolic peels with microdermabrasion
treatments spaced one to two weeks apart (three glycolic peels alternating with three microdermabrasion treatments). Each
treatment takes between thirty minutes to an hour.
YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT:
Allow time before your first appointment to fill out forms and consult with the doctor.
You will discuss your areas, concerns and expectations for treatment.
THE PROCEDURES:
You will be seated in a reclining treatment chair, much like you find at the dental office.
Glycolic Facial Peel
Your face will then be cleansed of all make-up or natural oils. Your clinician will apply the
glycolic acid wash which will remain on your face for approximately three minutes. It will then be neutralized. After
neutralization creams will be applied with a gentle facial massage. Finally a sun block will be applied.
Microdermabrasion
The process involves initial cleaning of the face, and then the microdermabrader will be applied
gently to the entire surface of the face and neck (avoiding the eye area). Generally microdermabrasion is done utilizing
two complete passes over the facial surface.
THE RESULTS:
Both procedures are considered "lunch hour" procedures. You will leave with skin that looks
fresh, glowing and healthy. After several treatments you will see marked improvement in the texture of your skin, and skin
discolorations will begin to diminish.
